Film Spray Festival 7-9 May 2009
We are happy to announce the first edition of the Film Spray Festival.
The festival will take place from Thursday May 7th until Saturday, May 9th , from 5 pm to 10pm. It will happen at the same time in Florence, Rome, Tuscania and Vicchio nel Mugello, and is promoted and sponsored by Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute.
Through the FilmSpray festival, tenItalian films and five short films (the majority will be subtitled) excluded from the main distribution circuits will be presented to an international audience. The selection will be based on the artistic, cultural and social value of the films and upon their capacity to represent Italian regional diversity.
The films will be projected in non-conventional venues, such as churches, museums and prisons. In Rome, for example, the festival will be hosted at Rebibbia prison and in the Museum of S.Giovanni de’ Fiorentini in via Giulia. The Church and the museum will become the extraordinary venue of the festival, symbolizing the Roman Renaissance, representing an ideal link with Florence, cradle of the Renaissance, and renewing the ancient tie between the two cities.
Our main goal is to promote “invisible” films, and through them to promote Italian culture worldwide.
