(All courses are taught in English)

What determines one's character-nurture or nature?  Are there clear psychological differences between men and women?  These questions, among others, are explored and debated in Lorenzo de' Medici's Psychology Department.

LdM encourages Psychology students to develop their own questions and opinions, providing access to current research and a welcoming, academic environment open to theoretical debate.  Students can choose from a broad spectrum of psychology subjects, ranging from an analytical introduction to psychology to an examination of popular theories in evolutionary psychology, including the difference between sexual and parental love and the cultural importance of both male and female beauty.  The causes of prejudice, language, and personality development-and whether or not this development is related to actual brain activity-are considered at great length.
