We recommend that you travel light.
On many transatlantic flights a passenger is allowed one piece of hand baggage to take onto the plane and two stowed pieces of luggage. Carry-on items are required to fit under the seat or in overhead compartments. Remember, however, that at some point you will have to carry your belongings.
NOTE: Because baggage regulations may change or vary among airlines due to current flying regulations, it is strongly recommended that you check with your ticketing airline to verify flight rules and regulations prior to your departure.
Remember that you should not pack anything remotely sharp or that could conceivably be used as a weapon in your carryon bag. These items must be packed in checked luggage only and include, but are not limited to: tweezers, knives, scissors, razors, and mace.
Note that for the Autumn semester, it will be somewhat hot when you arrive and cooler when you depart. During the Spring semester, it will be cold when you arrive, and warm when you leave, so remember to pack for layers.
Important Notes for Packing:
-
Check your ticket or call your airline for luggage restrictions on size, weight, number of luggage items, etc
