In the Spring of 2011 LdM will expand its new campus in Venice, in affiliation with the Istituto Venezia, at Murano.
LdM Venice, or Venezia in the Italian language, offers study abroad students an opportunity to study in an historic setting on the beautiful island of Murano, known worldwide for its glass production. The island is a 10 minute boat ride from the city center, and is connected 24 hours daily by public transportation. Whether you traverse the narrow streets on foot or the canals via "vaporetto," you're certain to find yourself uplifted by the atmosphere that is uniquely Venetian.
The LdM Venice semester program features a range of courses in the humanities and studio arts, closely tied to the rich artistic and historical resources of the city of Venice. In accordance with LdM's commitment to ensuring students' successful intercultural interaction, students will enroll in either a 3- or 6-credit Italian language course as well as a complement of 3 to 4 courses in English. Now LdM will offer a new emphasis on Glass Making, including glass blowing, fusing, lampworking, and glass design.
